Nursing mothers, YOU could save a life!
Think of all the amazing benefits breastmilk has for your baby and imaging what breast milk can do for a pre-term baby. For many pre-term babies, the mother and/or baby may not be ready for breastfeeding right away – the mother may not be making enough milk yet or the baby may not be able to nurse at the breast yet. These babies rely on donor breastmilk to keep them alive. Just 3 ounces of donor milk provides 12 feedings for a pre-term baby.
If you have extra breastmilk, think about becoming a milk donor. Contact the Mother’s Milk Bank to get started.
